Fans are left baffled as Manchester United’s Andre Onana is seen putting vaseline on his goalkeeper gloves during draw with Liverpool
Supporters were left baffled after Manchester United‘s Andre Onana was seen putting vaseline on his goalkeeper gloves during his side’s 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool.
It isn’t the first time that Onana has put vaseline on his gloves as he was also seen doing so during the game against West Ham in December.
As explained by GloveGlu on X, vaseline is sometimes used by goalkeepers in wet conditions, which makes the glove palms extremely grippy.
Using vaseline immediately approves the holding power of gloves, as stated by Keeper Balm.
However, doing so can ruin the glove latex, which means that the gloves will not last for as long as usual.
